How to Dual Boot Kali Linux In Easy Steps

Kali Linux is most popular OS among hackers weather they are noob or pro because of easy to use and several hacking and pan testing tool is pre-installed. If you are also willing to install kali in your PC or laptop, then you are at right place. Follow these steps carefully for successful installation. In this post we will also cover the basic problems occur while and after installation

Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 GB of HDD space to install Kali Linux
  • For i386 or amd64 architecture, a minimum of 512 MB RAM (1024 MB RAM recommended)
  • An ISO available at Kali Linux site 
  • A pendrive of 4/8/16/32 GB
If have all the resource listed above then congo you can go ahead.

PART 1: Creating a bootable Media 
Note: Please skip to part 2 if you have already a bootable pendrive for Kali Linux

1. First of all you have to download ISO image of Kali Linux. You can download   for free at Kali Linux download page.

2. Now download PowerIso from here.
3. Open PowerIso and click continue unregistered after 5 sec
4. Now click on tools tab and click on create bootable USB drive
it will ask for administrator mode give access

If you want to make your DVD bootable then click here


5. Now choose ISO file you have downloaded in above step


6. Click on start. Now wait till PowerIso finish writing.

Congo! You have successfully created a bootable pen drive.

Next step is to create a separate partition for Kali Linux installation.For this, open your Disk Management settings in Windows or just type ” diskmgmt.msc ” command in Run.
Create a new partition of size about 15 – 25GB minimum by shrinking any existing volume.If you choose to use Kali often then you an give it more than 50 GB of storage.For demonstration sake we created a new partition of size 17GB.



 PART 2: Installing Kali 

7. Now shutdown your computer. Power on again and press F2 (SONY)/F8 (LENOVO)/F11 (HP) according to your CPU or laptop brand and enter in BIOS setup. If you are still unable to enter in BIOS setup leave a message in comment with your CPU or Laptop brand ,i will tell you. 

8. After that goto Boot tab and select boot preference to External Device or USB device or Flash Drive then save the setting exit not your computer will restart.

9. Wait till a Window of Kali Linux appears. Now select graphics install with arrow key and press ENTER.

10. select language and press Enter

11. Select Location and press enter

12. Select Keyboard Language

13. Now wait for some time while component is loaded

14. Configure Network

15. Set a Host name for computer

16. Enter domain name if you have any or simply put www.google.com

17. Set a password for your computer

18. Wait for clock setup
19. Now the most important part where you have to be careful .select manual and proceed

20. If you select manual then you will be asked for choose a partition choose the partition you had created in part 1

21. Select Delete Partition

22. choose pri/log ( FREE SPACE) 

23. Select Automatically Partition the Free Space

24. Select All Files in one partition

25. Now select finish partitioning and write Changes to disk

26.  Wait for 10-15 minutes then select yes for write changes

27. Choose No for network mirroring. It is used to auto update your OS. if you want to autoupdate then choose yes

28. Select yes for loading kali in master boot record

29. choose your hard disk /dev/sda/

30. now press enter and wait some time till your computer shutdown automatically. remove usb after shut down of computer

31. Choose Linux or Windows and Enjoy your unlimited hacking.


Note: for login in kali linux your default username is root enter this for first login and enter password you set while installation.
